Two Taiwan schooners have been detained for poaching near the Kurile Islands, the Federal Security Service’s Sakhalin border guard department said on Wednesday.

The schooners were tugged to the port of Yuzhno-Kurilsk on the Kunashir Island for investigation.
The notification about detention of the Taiwan fishing vessels was submitted to the Chinese consulate-general in Khabarovsk.
