The preparation and holding of the APEC summit in Vladivostok will need specialists of different profiles.

The universities of Primorye are ready to accept 22.5 thousand freshmen on all forms of education this year, informed in the Department of Education and Science of Primorye Territory. Nearly 14 thousand are the applicants of the daytime education. Number of budgetary places provided in all profiles remains at the level of past years - more than seven thousand. The amount of free places on the engineering and technical specialities was increased again.

The goal-oriented order to the administration on the preparation of the profolesclaimed by the economy of the region has already been formed. As early as 2003 the governor of Primorye Sergei Darkin has initiated to revive such form of the preparation of the personnel for the region. About 500 young people can aspire to the budget education after they pass a separate contest. Traditionally, among the specialities needed in the region are education and health care workers, specialists of thermal power enterprises, agriculture and other sectors of the economy.

Many universities substantially increased the number of “ordered” places, noted in the department of Education and Science. FESU (Far Eastern State University) for example undertakes to prepare 100 teachers instead of 50 last year.

Many municipalities of the region allocate funds from local budgets for the training of local graduates in higher educational institutions of Primorye. So 20 million rubles were allocated from the budget of Artem last year.
More than 15 thousand young professional will graduate from the higher education institutions of Primorye this year. Many of them were already defined by the employer. Most intend to link their lives with Primorye. The region today more than ever needs literate qualified personnel: the preparation and holding of the APEC summit in Vladivostok will take specialists of different profiles.
