The total transport services in the first quarter of this year increased by 26 percent compared with the same period last year and amounted to more than 13 billion rubles, reported in the department of industry and transport of Primorye Territory.

An important role is played by the growth freight turnover by 6.7 percent. Best performance reached the rail transport where the freight turnover growth was 14 percent.

A special place in the transport sector of the region take transport conjunctions, their work is also characterized by positive trends. Within three months of the year the share of the port Vostochny in the distribution of freight flows in Primorye amounted to 41 per cent of the total freight processing - compared with similar indicators in 2007 volumes increased by 15.7 per cent. It is followed by Nahodkinsky and Vladivostok transport conjunctions - the proportion is 32.3 and 16.5 percent respectively.

Specialists note that the average wage of transport workers increased by 12 per cent compared with the period last year and now stands at 18 thousand rubles. 69.5 thousand people are employed in the industry - it is 11.5 per cent of all working people of Primorye.
