At the meeting with the heads of municipalities of the region the governor of Primorye Sergey DARKIN has summed up the heating season of 2007-2008 years and has put the task of preparing for next autumn-winter maximum.

During the meeting the first vice-governor of the region Sergei SOPCHUK in his report indicated that the whole heating season has been satisfactory, though not without untoward incidents. For the normal passing of winter it was needed to allocate additional 44 million roubles from the regional budget. The authorities of Arsenyev, Bolshoy Kamen, Spassk-Dalniy, Ussuriysk as well as the authorities of Olginskiy, Pogranichniy, Spasskiy, Hankayskiy, Chernigovskiy and Chuguevskiy areas have coped with the with the cold. However, the administrations of cities and rural settlements not always honestly perform their duties, added Sergey Sopchuk.

Sergei Darkin agreed that "this was the best winter" for all time of his governorship, but not without sharp comments. Apart from the heads of settlements the director of the “Primorye’s generation” Ivan Frantsev came under criticism of the governor. Sergei Darkin recalled that a lot of emergency situations occurred at the Primorye’s generating capacities, and investment program of the power plants modernization is running too slowly. Sergei Darkin promised that he will soon visit the Vladivostok HPP-2 with the verification.

The governor also said that due to rising in price on oil fuel he intends to apply to the Government of Russian Federation with a request for additional funding of Primorye Territory. In the future, however, Sergey Darkin believes that it is necessary to transfer power stations to cheaper fuel - coal or gas.
