The price on Russian gas will reach $ 500 per 1000 cubic meters for Europe by the end of 2008 said the Chairman of Gazprom Alexei Miller.

He reaffirmed his forecast for oil prices, which envisages the increase of the cost of oil to $ 250 per 1 bbl. "In this case, a European price of gas will be $ 1000 per thousand cubic meters” - he underscored.

Miller earlier called the potential price of gas for Ukraine, which could exceed $ 400 per 1000 cubic meters. This will be done if Gazprom will be able to negotiate with the countries of Central Asia at prices for gas at European level. Now Ukraine buys gas at $ 179.5 per 1000 cubic meters.
