Primorye Territory
The festival “French cinema today” will run in Vladivostok in December. It is organized by the Embassy of France in Russia and the «Unifrance» company with the support of the administration of Primorye Territory.
French Film Festival is being held in Vladivostok for the second time. In 2005, Primorye became the first region of Russia to host this Film Forum. Before that for five years the festival was held in Moscow. In summer 2005 at his meeting with the French Ambassador the governor opf Primorye Territory Sergey Darkin suggested to aquaint the residents of the region with modern works of French filmmakers. He noted that such meetings contribute to the development and strengthening of relations between nations, stressing that the international language of cinema sometimes brings together people better than the most successful political dialogue.
Six works of talented French producers are in the program of this festival. Movies will be presented by the creators. The Festival opens with a new picture of Cedric Klapish «Paris» starting the stars of French cinema.
The Opening of the Film Forum will be held on December 9 in the cinema «Ocean».
