The main tasks of the Far East sub-holding will become the guarantee of the Pacific Fleet fighting order.

The forming of the Far East center of shipbuilding and repair (FECSR) will be finished by the end of 2008, informed in the press-service of regional administration.





According to the Order of the President of RF from March 21, 2008 three sub-holdings are created forming a united shipbuilding corporation (USC). These are the West center of shipbuilding, East center of shipbuilding and the Far East center of shipbuilding and repair. The final date of the USC forming is April, 1, 2009.


The federal state unitary enterprises will enter the Far East sub-holding after their reorganization into the limited liability companies with 100% state budget.





It was noted at the meeting that the South-eastern repair center has already entered the USC. The work on the privatization of the Khabarovsk shipbuilding plant, the 179 ship repair plant, the plant “Zvezda” is on the final stage. Parallel to the forming of the FECSR the specialists are starting to elaborate the strategy of the development of the center. The base of the strategy will be the suggestions of the directors of the plants.





The governor of Primorye Sergey Darkin has stressed the significance of this project’s realization. By his words “the creation of Far East center of shipbuilding and repair where the leading enterprises of the industry enter will significantly increase the positions of the shipbuilding and repair of Primorye, will give a new stimulus for the development of this perspective fields”.
