Construction materials, medicines, clothes and food were gathered by enterprises, organizations and private persons of the region.

The governor of Primorye Territory Sergei Darkin has led the weekly meeting the main theme of which was the socio-economic situation in the region. It was noted that the temps of gross national product growth for the past 7 months made 6,2%.

Among the main issues discussed at the meeting was the assistance to the residents of South Ossetia. Sergei Darkin has noted that “Primorye Territory as the whole country has responded to the tragic events. The rain with the humanitarian aid for the victims is being formed now. It is planned that it will be sent to the South Ossetia on August, 22. Construction materials, medicines, clothes and food were gathered by enterprises, organizations and private persons of the region. Besides that most of the work collectives of Primorye have transferred part of their wages to the fund of South Ossetia. Administration of the region has also sent its one-day earnings.” Sergei Darkin has also ordered to allocate 5 million rubles from the reserve fund.

The preparation of the housing and communal complex for winter was also discussed at the meeting. It was reported that the fuel stock is being formed. It will be about 100 thousand tons by October 10. That will guarantee a timely start and steady flow of the heating season. It was noted that the repair of the housing objects is going due to the schedule.
