Far East Russia
The former heads of the region that arrived on the 70th anniversary of the region consider so.
Dmitry Ivanovich Karabanov (the head of the executive committee of the Primorye Deputy Soviet 1977-1986), Leonid Vasilyevich Sharin (the second secretary of the Primorye regional committee of the CPSU from 1983 till 1984), Valery Fedorich Lutsenko (The head of the executive committee of the Primorye Deputy Soviet in 1986-1991) and Vladimir Sergeevich Kuznetsov the head of the Primorye Territory administration in 1991-1993 arrived to the anniversary of Primorye on the invitation of the governoe Sergey Darkin.
The participants of the press-conference have noted how Primorye and Vladivostok have changed for the past years. The first post-Soviet governor of Primorye Vladimir Kuznetsov noted: “it is important that the city and the region aspire to reach new quality in development. It is important that today the words about the necessity of the Far East and Primorye development are not empty statements but concrete actions for the federal authorities. The proof of that is the decision to conduct the APEC summit in Vladivostok.”
By the words of press-conference participants they were personally convinced that after the stagnation in 90-ies the Primorye Territory has started dynamic development and is ready for the realization of the most daring projects.
