The funding of the regional program “The development of agricultural production in the Primorye Territory for 2008-2012” will be increased this year.

511 million roubles is planned to be allocated from the regional budget in support of the village of Primorye.
The bill of the program initiated by the Governor Sergei Darkin is supported in the first reading by the deputies of Primorye at the meeting of the Legislative Assembly.

The program is aimed at the effective development of the Primorye’s outback, raising the standard of villagers’ living, the forming of the competitive agricultural production. Among the major sections of the program is the expansion of rural areas and maintenance of soil fertility, creation of the incentives for the development of cattle-breeding, the establishment of conditions for the consolidation of young professionals in the agricultural sector and improve their educational level.

Particular attention is given to the program of the expansion of sown areas under the most popular cereals in the region such as rice, soybean, canola and buckwheat. The seeds of higher reproductive success will be used for planting.
According to experts, ultimately the implementation of the complex of measures of the program will increase the volume of agricultural production and provide the population with ecologically clean food.
