Primorye Territory
Primorye foreign trade turnover in 2007 rose by 28 percent and amounted to 5.88 billion dollars.
The exports rose by 8 per cent and import - by 38 percent. The increase in imports occurred mainly by increasing the supply of machinery, equipment and vehicles (by 42 per cent), textiles and shoes in 1.7 times, as well as food products.
Fuel and energy products, wood and wooden wares, fish and seafood, as well as mineral products dominate in the structure of exports. In imports represented machine-building products, food products, textiles and footwear.
The share of Primorye in the volume of foreign trade turnover of the Far Eastern Federal District was 29 percent - 13 percent for exports and 57 on imports. The largest number of participants in foreign economic activity in the Far Eastern Federal District also has traditionally accounted for Primorye Territory – 8765 participants or 66 per cent.
The basis of foreign trade turnover made the trade with countries abroad. In the sphere of foreign economic activity of the region - 86 countries (last year - 82), 79 of them are foreign countries. The main partners for the past ten years remain China - 38 percent of the total foreign trade, Japan - 30 percent, the Republic of Korea - 14 percent and the United States - 3 percent. Trade turnover of these countries with Primorye makes 85 per cent of the total foreign trade turnover of the region.
