Primorye Territory
The representatives of the industry consider the necessity to lower the agricultural tax.
The fishing industry of Primorye in present is losing its profitability, said the President of the Pollock Association German Zverev on today’s press-conference. It is connected with the growth of prices on the oil products. The fact is that the price on the lubricant and combustible materials has grown more than twice for the past year.
This issue was discussed on the joint meeting of the Soviet of Federations committees on the agriculture policy and fishery complex and on nature resources and environmental security which took place in the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy. The speaker of the Upper Chamber of the parliament Sergei Mironov presented at the meeting. It is planned to allot about 4,7 billion rubles each year for the fishing industry to compensate the growing expenses on the fuel.
The members of the Pollock Association consider that this measure is not enough to improve the situation. By the words of German Zverev the loss of the fishery due to the rise of prices on fuel is about 23 billion rubles. The supposed sum is not enough to cover the additional expenses and to renew the basic funds. Fishermen consider that the only way to solve the problem is to implement a single agricultural tax that will help to lower the load on the industry unions. The opponents are the Ministries of finance and economic development.
According to the calculations of the experts of fishery department of the region, the loss for the state budget will be compensated in three years by the means of the growing fish catch.
