The exhibition of the children’s paintings from Germany is dedicated to the theme of leopard’s protection in Russia. A press-conference “Children of the world are saving leopard” will take place on Wednesday at Vladivostok office of the WWF of Russia.
The arrival of the children’s paintings from Germany dedicated to the preservation of the Amur leopard was the cause of its conduction, told the press-secretary of the Amur filial of Russian WWF Elena Starostina. They were drawn by the German schoolchildren during the contest organized this year by the World wildlife fund of Germany. The paintings will be given to the WWF of Russia during the conference. They will become a part of international traveling exhibition “the leopard and the tiger in the eyes of the children” that was opened in September in Slavyanka at “The land of the Leopard” festival and now working at the Hasan district of Primorye. The paintings of children from Russia, China, USA are in the exposition. More than 2000 of works were at the contest. Part of the paintings together with the german children’s appeals to the president of Russia with a request to save the Amur leopard was presented to the Russian ambassador in Germany to further transfer tj the president of RF V.V. Putin. 60 of children’s works were delivered to Primorye where the Amur leopard lives. It is known that the Amur leopard is the rarest cat on the planet. Not more than 40 species of this animal is left on the south-west of the Primorye Territory. That is why many countries and ecological organizations of the world are concerned about the preservation of the Amur leopard and the WWF is among them.
