A detachment of battleships of the USA Navy is arriving to Vladivostok. A rocket destroyer “Lassen” and anti-torpedo boat “Patriot” are allotted.

The third meeting of Russian and American sailors pursues two objects: the further development of naval co-operation in APR and conducting of the joint Russian-American exercise “Pacific eagle 2007”. The master ship from Russian side will be a big anti-submarine boat “Admiral Panteleev”, commanded by the captain of 2nd rank Ivan Kovalev. It will also participate in forthcoming maneuvers.
Joint exercises will be held on September 28-30 and provide following episodes: joint mine-sweeping, helicopter exercise, artillery firing and arrest of the intruder-vessel. After the exercises a solemn ceremonial of giving the military honours to the crews of submarine L-19 and American “Wahoo” lost during the Second World War.
