Far East Russia
The director of the Far Eastern railway Mikhail Zaichenko as the head of the Public Corporation "Russian Railways" will take place in the International transport-logistic forum "Russian day" that will take place in Shanghai on the 10th of December, 2007.
“Russian Day” is organized within the limits of the SITL-Asia-2007 international exhibition – a leading Asian exhibition of the transport and logistic. The theme of the “Russian Day” in Shanghai: “Asia-Russia. Strategic routes”, the goal of the event is the advancement of the Russian business in the strategic districts. At the exhibition the public corporation “Russian Railways” will demonstrate the development of international transport ways, transport and logistic services, modern information technologies of the company and its filial the Far Eastern Railway. The Far Eastern main line is one of the important links of Transsiberian transit corridor providing more than 30% of the total volume of Russian export cargo transportation and over 25% of transit transportation of other countries’ cargo. The stable dynamic of the container goods traffic growth indicates the growing interest of foreign manufacturers to the transport possibilities of Transsiberian main line. The main argument for the Transsib is the speed that is becoming a more significant factor in the Eurasian commerce. The straight railway communication shortens the distance of cargo transportation to Europe. For example from China and Korea in 5 times compared to sea routes.
