The reason of the black roe output prohibition is the reduction of fish numbers in Caspia.
According to the words of the agrarian and industrial politics and fishery committee of the Council of Federation’s chairman Gennady Gorbunov, “Russia can fully lose this type of fish if the process of extermination won’t be stopped”.
The output of black roe will be allowed only to the holdings that do the fish-breeding. Besides that the small parcels of roe will be gained for scientific developments. As Gorbunov noted, the measures on the restrictions are temporal. “Russia can restore the amount of sturgeon artificially but it needs more than a year. It will take at least ten years and we have to keep the regime. In ten years we must get a comeback of sturgeon and roe.”
The state program of preservation, reproduction and increase of fish resources is planned to be discussed on the meeting of the State Council presidium that will take place in Astrakhan.
